Tru Niagen: A Healthy Aging Supplement

This post is sponsored by ChromaDex, makers of Tru Niagen

The last few months have been exhausting! Packing and organizing have worn me right out. I’m not sleeping as well as usual, and my energy level is paying the price. I’d been reading about TRU NIAGEN® long before I was contacted to review it…so the timing seemed perfect to give it a closer look.

I’ve always taken vitamins and minerals because I know we can’t get all the nutrients we need from our food alone. This is one I have never taken because it is a new formulation and exclusive to ChromaDex.3 bottles of Tru Niagen on A Well Styled Life

Aging starts in our cells, and stressors like travel, lack of sleep, sun exposure, overeating, and alcohol consumption can depress our cellular metabolism and lower our levels of NAD.

Kym Douglas, a media personality who shares beauty tips on television, raved about how much she loves this product in a recent interview:

“I think the day I turned 40 it was like a light switch turned off. All of a sudden, I wasn’t reading things as easily. It was a little bit more of, oh wait, what does that say? … I was not quite as on it like I used to be.

Tru Niagen is about cell health and cell rejuvenation. I do a lot of talking about how to take care of our skin. But when you think about it, it really is our cells that we need to keep at optimum level of performance. Then we can truly be the best we want to be. That’s why I was very interested in trying something like Tru Niagen.”

Tru Niagen is vegan, vegetarian, nut-free, gluten-free, and contains no artificial colors or flavors. Two capsules, with or without food, are an easy addition to a morning routine. I look forward to seeing how this may help with my sleep and energy levels.

Thanks for reading, ladies, and have a great day!

Thanks to Tru Niagen for partnering on this post. I was provided product to try and compensated but all opinions are my own.

  1. Let me know how you feel in 6 months. I’m a skeptic, and will wait, and continue on with what I’m using what is working for my skin, hair, and body before make a change and adding this product to my diet.

  2. I wish you had waited until you tried it a while before posting. It sounds promising but would like to hear from someone who had actually used it. Also would like to try one bottle not sign up for ever. Realize that isn’t your call! Enjoy your posts D

I agree, Darlene. Being an oncology research scientist in my past life, I’m always very skeptical of such claims. Taking a pill isn’t necessarily so simple because these dietary supplements don’t work in a vacuum; you often need additional things to aid in a biochemical reaction. Plus if something is touted by a celebrity (i.e. Kym Douglas), I’m even more of a skeptic because they’re often being compensated to say good things about a product.
One needs to read the research papers, noting if the experiments, using both mice and other cell cultures (one of which was the HeLa cell culture line), are able to be replicated by researchers at other facilities. Also, the research should be published in reputable, peer-reviewed medical journals.
Two such articles are found here: http://www.jbc.org/content/283/10/6367.full (from the Journal of Biological Chemistry); and here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4487780/
Additionally, one needs to be aware of who is funding the research; is it the company intending to sell the product, or an independent, non-biased funding source? Just be aware before you spend your hard earned money on a product.

Interesting! My doctor has me taking nicotinomide for my basal cell skin cancer – so you just may get extra benefits, Jennifer!
