Spring Shoe Trend: Twinkle Toes

Spring Shoe Trend: Twinkle Toes

There are several trends in shoes this Spring so you can pick and choose which appeals to you. The one I’m dipping my toes into, (horrible pun) is glitter shoes. Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz would be in heaven this season. Sparkly shoes are everywhere but the only ones appealing to me now are comfortable.

Glitter shoes are available in heels, sandals, mules, lace-ups, and booties. Since I never jumped on the sneaker trend last year, I’m planning to do a twofer this season.INC glitter sneakers on A Well Styled Life

I tried these on at Macy’s last week and ordered my size on the spot. They come in myriad colors. I ordered the navy. I know brave of me but baby steps ladies. They’re also available in a watermelon pattern which is out of my comfort zone but super cute for the playful among us.sparkly shoe trend on A Well Styled Life

Speaking of watermelon pattern, I also saw these pool slides which I probably would wear with bright pink toes polish. I’d definitely wear these slides for casual days around the house.

If you can tolerate flip flops these are in a whole different category than rubber ones. I’d wear these with jeans on the weekend when sneakers are too hot.

I spotted these Ugg’s which come in gold or silver and have a cushioned footbed. These would combine comfort and glitter. I spotted these yesterday, and also last spring when I wondered… who over the age of 4 would wear glitter sneakers? Hello? The life of a trend starts early.

Even these Old Skool Vans have been updated to glitter. These Sam Edelman’s are a classic shape but there’s nothing classic about their fabric.

SPARKLY SHOES FOR SPRING

I will be sharing my sneakers when they arrive and might even get a pair of the slides for hot days in the backyard.

Would you wear glitter shoes?

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Having very small feet, I have purchased shoes from the girls’ section more than once. My two favorites have been my pink sparkly and silver sparkly ones. I’ve worn both pair for about three summers and I’m hoping I can get one more season out of them! There is something about stepping into a pair of sparkly shoes that instantly elevates my mood. No matter what the day brings, I’ll be sparkly!

These will be my first and I’m excited to try them. Have a great day Jane!

I need something like these to brighten up my days. I’m going for the watermelon sparkle.

Way to go!! They’ll be so fun with white jeans in the summer.

I would wear them in a heartbeat! Find the fun you did! I had no idea of this trend but I like it.

      It’s going to be fun!

I have had to switch to sensible lace up walking shoes when running around during the day to the shops etc. I bought a pair of Ziera (Spanish brand) metallic sparkly grey lace-up sneakers. They are super comfortable and I can away (just) wearing them with a summer dress or skirt without looking too frumpy (I hope) Several seasons ago, I had a fab pair of sparkly silver sequined pointy flats, which I wore in Hong Kong and received many compliments on them. Apparently, sparkly shoes are big in Europe at the moment.

    • February 13, 2018 / 7:31 am

You’ll find many supportive, cushiony versions this year too. Europe usually leads the way with trends which gives us a peek at what’s coming.

I think the glitter shoes are fun. I like metallics, too. I keep seeing a kind of blush/rose/rose-gold metallic finish on athleisure shoes. Susan is right–sparkly shoes are big in Europe, at least in France.
I don’t see any age limits either. I draw the line at light-up soles and wheelies.

    • February 13, 2018 / 7:33 am

Light up soles would be a game changer for me too:) Rose gold is everywhere this year and gorgeous.

Why not! Really love my Ecco sneakers bought last year but have to be careful with how these (all!) shoes look on my size 10 feet… I’m only 5’5″ lol

    • February 13, 2018 / 7:35 am

Darker colors make them look a bit smaller and seaming details can help too. In the end, we are who we are, dress to express and enjoy yourself Lea!

I have had holier shoes for years. My first pair was from TOMS in black glitter. Lots of fun. Lis

I meant glitter shoes- sorry for the typo..Lis

I debated about black glitter. I may need them too;)

    YES!
    IF IT’s THE RIGHT PAIR………………

I love the glitter trend but lost my heart to a pair of embroidered leather kicks .they have a cushioned lining and are so comfortable. I could get away wearing them with a dress. As a health professional who spends her days roaming around a big hospital comfort always comes first but I don’t wear a uniform so a little fun on the feet is always welcome. I might check out the Uggs as I hear they are comfortable Kate Spade not so much

    • February 13, 2018 / 7:38 am

I agree. The UGGs will have lots more cushion. Those Keds by Kate Spade are too narrow for me and have very little cushion. Not good for long days on your feet.

  10. February 13, 2018 / 7:37 am

I would definitely wear them…if they were comfy. What a bright spot in the day!

      I think so too Barb!!

I bought a pair of leopard print ones last year by Vionic and have loved them! Will definitely do the sparkle!

    • February 13, 2018 / 11:45 am

I eyed leopard ones but didn’t get them.

I bought a pair last spring in the black. I wore them so much the heals are showing wear. They look great with my ankle chinos and capris (updated). I’ll be looking for a replacement pair this spring.
Buy them and have fun! 😀

Those are pretty. It’s a subtle way of adding some glam! Xx

Oh, yes! I would wear any of these pretty sparkling shoes. They are fun and feminine and definitely on trend.

I think fun is really important these days.

Sigh. Nope, probably can’t do this one. I think they’re really cute, but I have long, thin legs and size 10 feet, and feel awkward in white or very glittery big shoes like full pumps or sneakers. I’ll join you for sparkly strappy sandals, though!

    • February 13, 2018 / 11:51 pm

I hear you on that proportion! I can’t wear many shoes because I am short for the size of my feet:)

  17. February 13, 2018 / 1:29 pm

I haven’t purchased any glittery shoes yet, but I certainly would if I found a comfortable pair in my price range. I just bought a pair of Circus by Sam Edelman sneakers in a gorgeous Rose Taupe colour at a fantastic sale price though. I can’t wait for our snow to melt away so that I can start wearing them.

    • February 13, 2018 / 11:52 pm

Rose taupes sounds right up my alley. I bet they are gorgeous

I have two pairs of slip-on Keds – one in blue velvet and one in cream with gold sequins. I also have a pair SJP sandals with a sparkly strap and mules with beads and sequins. Shoes give you options when paired with neutral and staples.

    • February 16, 2018 / 7:55 pm

Those sound gorgeous. Blue velvet is so rich looking!
