Dressing Room Diaries: Spring Fashion at Nordstrom

Happy weekend ladies! With our upcoming RV trip to San Diego on my brain, I went to Nordstrom to look at spring fashion for this weeks DRD. I know, it’s nutty because most of the country is buriedĀ in a deep freeze, but the truth is, these clothes are starting to hit the stores. I was happy to see color everywhere and gravitated to very little black.

BLOUSE | EARRINGS

I added these

I styled itĀ these Bridgitte ankle jeansĀ which are a skinny cut, yet very comfortable. They’re not plastered with pearls like some I’ve seen but have a small amount scattered about which I liked. They have lots of stretch but I would always cover the top because…skinny.

I love denim shirts and this one is special. The fabric is softened and faded with large stars on it. They’re not just stamped on, they’re embroidered. The color of my photo doesn’t do this justice. It’s also available in petite but I like this length on me. I’m wearing a medium.

SHOP THE POST

This Faux Suede JacketĀ is very soft and supple with a gracefully draped front. It comes in 3 new colors here and is on sale in several other colors here.Ā It’s a great little jacket for spring and all the way through summer. I see this with a long white tee or thin blouse.

The striped linen blend duster is right up my alley and very wearable. It comes in regular and petite in 7 colors. This is classic which reminds me of Eileen Fisher linen sweaters at a fraction of the cost. I paired it with these Nic + Zoe stretchĀ pants which also remind me of more expensive ones. They have a wide flat waistband which doesn’t roll.

These fabulous platforms caught my eye on the way out. Their bright rows of embroideryĀ thread are like modern works of art. They’re an investment and would make an amazing statement when worn with every color in the rainbow.

I’m enjoying color this season and seeing more than ever for Spring.

Thanks for reading and have a great day.

  1. Wow, you posted on a few things I have in my closet. I have a different print of the NYDJ top (love this one too) from a couple years ago that I love, fits and washes beautifully and travels well without wrinkling. I will check out the new print. And the two Kut From the Cloth jackets, I have the white denim and the burgundy ultrsuede, both are good flexible items in my wardrobe. And I have 2 colors of the linen duster. Guess that makes us style sisters!! With our second round of subzero weather here in MN, it’s good to see clothing that we will be wearing when we get into spring!
    Enjoy your trip!

    1. Great minds think alike Deede!! I loved the blouse too. Quite different for me but oh so flattering. We leave today and Iā€™m just getting his man cold now:(. Not good timing. Stay warm.

  2. Good to know that spring fashions are hitting the stores now… it doesn’t really get cold enough here to wear too many sweaters and heavy coats. I’ll keep my eye out for you here in San Diego… enjoy your trip!

    1. We are really looking forward to it. Please say hi if you see me Janis!

JENNIFER!!!! Make sure you visit POWAY!!! Nice small town, with great community parks. You ought to consider retiring here!! I enjoy your site. And thank you for all your knowledge.

  4. What a nice change to try on spring. Our stores are carrying cruise wear so that gives us Canadians a peak into the upcoming trends for this spring.
How fun are those pearl skinnies! I hope you bought those.
Have fun on your upcoming trip to San Diego!

  5. I love your Dressing Room Diaries! Iā€™m also petite, so I get some good ideas from your fitting room experiences. I also needed the reminder to try on regular misses sizes as well; that would sure expand my options if I could make some work. I have narrow shoulders and short arms, though, so I usually need petite tops. Have a great day . . . Iā€™m off to click on your links! I love the blue print blouse and v- neck sweater on you.

  6. Great choices and such a lift on another frigid Midwestern morning! I’m off to Nordstrom this weekend to give some of those a try.

  7. Ooh, the twist front sweater is cute (and boy, it took me a long time to come around to the half-tucked style, ha!) You would look so pretty in the blue ceramic shade. The platform sandals remind me of the statement necklaces in Etsy shop, Milo Necklaces. I’ve bought several in various color combos for myself and as gifts (you can even choose your colors) and they never fail to attract attention, plus the designer/seller is a gem.

  8. Do try to find another color of the twist front top. I have it in heathered gray and I LOVE it. Itā€™s tummy friendly, soft as pajamas and washes up perfectly.

I also love the denim shirt with stars! Your Dressing Room Diaries are always a favorite with me. šŸ™‚

    1. I was debating between the teal or gray. I think Iā€™ll order several and in petite too to see which works best. Happy you like the DRD. I figure it might help us to see clothes on a woman over 18, like they show online.

  9. Love the first top on you…the fit and print are very flattering. It is always fun to see the first offerings of a new season.

    1. Iā€™m ready for it too. I feel so lucky to have the frigid weather others are dealing with.

  10. Loveth the jeans…I am glad you presented them as spring wear which will take the look away from holiday…Great post…Spring …as I watch an ice storm outside…Deede

    1. Stay warm and safe Deede!! Youā€™re really getting blasted this year. Spring will come, eventually.

  11. I especially liked the blue cheetah blouse and the ruffled sweater on you! The neckline on that sweater was very flattering. I am off today to see an exhibit of Katherine Hepburnā€™s clothes on tour at our local museum. If ever there was a style icon, she was one! (And I already know one of my girlfriends will look at me and say ā€œI didnā€™t know we were going to dress upā€)

    1. Thanks! That sounds like a great exhibit. I hope it comes to my city. Tell your girlfriend youā€™re sorry she didnā€™t get the memo, but dressing up feels better;) Have fun Roxanne!

  12. The outfits look great. One observation I have, why do manufacturers give plus size wearers such ugly fabrics? The regular size comes in beautiful fabrics and the plus size should be the same! Its so biased!

    1. I saw that too Linda! The blouse had been available in plus in the pretty pattern but must have sold out. I think they purchase less plus and petite size product which means it sells out faster. Shame on them

    2. I also noticed, just because it’s a larger size – doesn’t mean the length of the arms have to be so long.

  13. The first thing I noticed was your great red nail polish! Love all the outfits with the exception of the peach top. You look fabulous!

    1. I have such thin nails I never usually bother but wanted to try red. I like it! Yeah, the peach washed me out.
