She Talks YVR

Friday, my husband and I are flying to Vancouver to see my daughter speak at theĀ She Talks YVR convention, in Vancouver, B.C. They reached out to her several weeks ago, and asked her to be a speaker. Great choice people! My daughter is amazing! We couldn’t be prouder of her.

“Recognized by CNN International last year as one of the top 10 things to do in the WORLD for International Womenā€™s Day, SheTalksYVR aspires to harness the power of a women collective in all sectors using an open platform for women to share with each other. SheTalksYVR inspires connection through real women with real stories. You will hear 8 minute stories from women whoā€™ve accomplished incredible thingsĀ through adversity and challenge.”

I’ve invested in waterproof mascara for this event. I have a general idea of her content and know it will turn on my waterworks. Her story is powerful. I’m not sure I could have survived with such grace and dignity. I could not love her more.

We had a lively Blab yesterday! The replay is here if you’d like to watch.

  1. Hi Jennifer, I’m late to commenting, but I hope the weekend was wonderful for you and your daughter.

    1. Thank you Lisa, it was amazing!

  2. These are moments that we remember and treasure and expand from all our lives. I’m so happy for you as a mother to be able to witness her triumph and growth and the goodness she carries to be willing to share her story.

And synchronistically – I JUST wrote and published a post on “like a girl” last night. Maybe feeling your vibe. Definitely celebrating and kicking back against negativity toward women. We must all add our voices.

  3. Jennifer, congratulations to your daughter. I would love to be in YVR to hear her and the women speak. Hearing real life stories from brave and courageous women is truly marvellous.

    Brava

Hello Jennifer! What an exciting time for your family. You must be so very proud of your daughter. I love to see young women living strong, fearless lives!! Safe travels and tell that girl there are other ‘moms’ out there that are proud of her too!

    1. Thanks Deb! I will tell her :))

  6. Jennifer, your your daughter is a beautiful woman, a younger version of mom. I hope you’ll be able to share some of her speech from Vancouver.

I’m confused…what did your beloved daughter survive?

    1. She survived and grew from a brutally, painful experience that is not my story to tell. It was an emotional tragedy that would have sunk many young women.

      1. Shawn Brown says:

That says all that needs to be said. Your love and pride in her is palpable. Many blessings to you and yours.
