Marie Hell: The Perfect Little Black Dress

Marie Hell: The Perfect Little Black Dress

When I was planning my cruise last summer I knew I needed a LBD that could do double duty.

I needed to be able to dress it up and down. It needed to comfortable, versatile, travel well and be easy care. A tall order. I found it all at Marie Hell.

When I found this line of dresses, I fell in love, immediately. Their company values are in line with my own. Made in America with luxurious fabric that is also milled here. I like that!

These are a permanent collection of modern-day classics that are elegant, effortless and timeless.

Marie Hell: The Perfect Little Black Dress

Meet Eileen Mandel— Founder / Creative Director of Marie Hell……the soul of your wardrobe. The company is named after her grandmother, who introduced her to her first love-clothing. She designed these dresses to fill her own personal need for the right garment to get her from morning till evening. She quickly discovered that many women could benefit from having these effortless staples in their wardrobes. Eileen designed these dresses to be the backbone of a woman’s wardrobe. “The soul of your wardrobe”Timeless and sustainable. She believes in quality over quantity. These are the dresses you can reach for everyday and change-up with accessories.

I chose this long-sleeved Zipped Dress because I knew it would be chilly in the Baltic Sea region. The zippers are just the right amount of edgy for me.

The entire collection comes in a neutral palette. The black and grey are available in a specially woven, classic jersey. The off-white and white versions are available in Ponte Jersey, which is thick enough to be totally opaque.

These dresses all have the same body silhouette. They fall away from your body and are canvases for your personal style. They skim your body and don’t cling.  I don’t know about you, but cling is out for me.

This dress is a perfect blank canvas. A quick change of accessories takes it from casual to formal. I wore this on the long flight to Copenhagen and got off the plane looking perfectly polished. Not a wrinkle in sight.

Since I cracked my hip last summer I have packed on a 10 solid pounds. This dress still fits me, while most other things do not. I have my eye on the  Quiver Dress in off-white. It will play nicely with all my jackets and cardigans this fall.

Such a fab dress! I love versatile items. I’m looking forward to being in the US several times next year and being able to buy a few things from some of my favourite brands over there (even when brands have international postage it’s not worth having items sent to the UK, in case I need to send them back – the return postage is always a killer!).

It sounds like the off-white dress will be a great addition to your wardrobe!
