Look of the Week: Downtime
The last couple of weeks have been a fun break from my routine. Weāve been busy revisiting old haunts, seeing family and friends, hanging by the coast and eating out…a lot. What I havenāt been doing is hunting for Wi-Fi. I thought I would but I just couldnāt work up the energy.
Lucy and I would rather walk this boardwalk, breath in the sea air and soak up the majestic beauty of this spot.
We drove south yesterday are now ensconcedĀ in a remote spot and that not surprisingly, doesnāt have good Wi-Fi. Our campsite backs onto a tranquil pond and the front faces the ocean which I consider a great trade-offĀ for Wi-Fi.
Iām finishing my sixth book this afternoon and thoroughly enjoying accomplishing nothing.
I didnāt intend to not post… it happened organically because of the lack of Wi-Fi. I also think it happened because I needed a break. Running a blog and its social media requirements can chew up hours faster than a teething puppy can destroy your new shoe.
Since I did find Wi-Fi to write this post I had a quick peek at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. You knew I would šĀ I zeroed in on boots and shoes which are always on my list at this sale. These Bondo Booties ended up in my cart because I adore gray shoes and boots. These leopard flats also went into my cart because my old pair was worn right out.
Then I headed over to look at cashmere because I always find some great pieces…I’mĀ going to devote some time to this tomorrow which I hope to share, then I’ll go back to chilling.
Thanks for reading ladies and have a great day!

I have missed your posts so much! I donāt think I got this one. I searched my junk mail then searched the web and found your home page today. Glad you have WiFi again.
You and sweet Lucy are just so adorable walking and enjoying…Give her 6 hugs from me…
I like the Blondo boots but I have made an investment purchase with the NAS Aquatalia…not the knee length ones but the short with the buckle…They must rise to a high standard for me to keep them…should arrive tomorrow…and I shall know then…
Meanwhile, continue to sing joyfully with Lucy, books and the beach…I love the thought!…
Hi Jennifer, thank you for your post
You look so beautiful! Thank you for sharing your journeyā¤ļø
I would love it if you would tell us exactly where you are in this post. It looks lovely!
Great post and the area looks beautiful and peaceful! Enjoy some well deserved down time.
Time spent reading is always worthwhile!
Yes it is!!
Hope you enjoyed your stay in our little corner of heaven. Wonderful place to retire. I do enjoy your site, your fashions and tips. You always look marvelous. Thank you for all your hard work.
Thank you Carole. Itās been a marvelous trip!!
I love my Blondo boots! My black booties have a slightly lower cut in the front but are very comfortable and yes water proof, a good and budget friendly sub for Aquatalia, my only issue with Blondo is they do fit smallish. I have two pairs and find I need to upsize .5
I ordered two pairs last time 9 and 9.5 and the 9.5’s stayed. If I planned to wear a heavy sock I would have gone up to a 10. I first read this advice on a Canadian shoe web site ( now defunct) that was similar to your zappos. I ordered Size 10 snow boots and they fit great and are very warm.
Of course I wear boot socks in them!!
Your photos are awesome!!
Great tips about the Blondo. I have my eye on some Aquatalia also and they are an investment.
I think it is good to have down time????
It is ????
Sounds perfect! The beach, books, good food & friends are a great way to reset. Enjoy your vacation and blog when you can and/or want. We’ll be here.
It really is. Iām reevaluating lots of things these days! Because I have time.
Enjoy your vacation. Such beautiful sights.
Have you ever gone into the Nordstrom in Vancouver?
I have shopped there several times. The shoe department is amazing!!
Enjoy your well deserved break. We all need a little time away from our daily routines to escape and recharge. I can’t think of a better place than British Columbia to have that happen!
I love following your travels in the northwest. Your photos are beautiful and inspiring me
to visit that area.
You mentioned you finished 6 books. Any you would share with us?
Becky
I really enjoyed the Myrna Loy biography. She was a fascinating lady. Itās called Being and Becoming.
Ooh – that sounds terrific! Thank you for the recommendation.
Rest up and enjoy yourself! š
Hi Jennifer-looks fun. Where did you get the pink jeans? I’ve been looking for a pair. Enjoy
These are closer to a chino fabric. Mine are from Black House White Market several years ago but Iāve seen similar ones at Gap and Loft this summer.
