Dockside in Casual Linen

I’m loving these warmer days, especially dry ones! We’re getting more April showers than in yearsĀ past, so we’re taking every opportunity to get out and enjoy the sunĀ when we can. Last week was not warm but it was sunny so I broke out linen again, this time in a heavier weight.

I love the hemline of this Linen Stinson Shirt by Lisa Bayne, from Artful Home. It dips longer in the back so covers enough to wear with leggings and skinny pants. I paired it with my indispensableĀ Lisette pants and some Keds for a casual look that could take you from town to the beach and with a quick change of shoes, dressed up for dinner out.

As it happens we ran into a perfect spot for pictures on our way to Cost-Co! This darling electric boat was dockside in a nearby park and it looked like a perfect toy for adults.

This shirt has a classic silhouette with stand-up collar and full-length straight sleeves that I rolled up. I prefer 3/4 sleeves on most tops because they help me appear taller. The front hemline is a perfect length for my 5’4″ height. Short enough to show leg and bottom of my torso but long enough to conceal my waistline.

Lisa Bayne is the CEO of Artful Home and also designs her own collection of effortless, expressive clothing with the perfect balance between comfort and great style.

“With a lifetime of experience under my belt, I know what I am looking for in clothes at this stage in my life. I believe that clothes have to feel great on our bodies and make us feel like a million bucks. Just because some of us have lost our waistlines does not mean we have lost our sense of style. ” ~Lisa Bayne

I love Lisa’s philosophy! Don’t you?

I chose simple earrings and wore my Coast Salish native art bracelet, hand painted in the Pacific northwest.

Artful Home has a wonderful collection of linen this spring in unique, flattering shapes, many are works of art to wear!

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Thank you to Artful Home for collaborating on this post. They provided my shirt, all opinions are my own.

What about your handbag? You did not mention it in your post.

    1. It’s a Kate Spade that I bought 30+ years ago. šŸ™‚

  2. I discovered your blog several months ago, and really appreciate your fashion advice and style. I’m a 1957 model, so you feel like a fellow stage of life traveler! Living in the hot, dry heat of Arizona – I struggle to find clothes that are attractive, appropriate and comfortable. While I am fairly slim and in good shape, my skin is pale and no longer as firm and attractive as it used to be. So many clothing manufacturers offer only sleeveless tops or dresses, or styles that look a little ridiculous on someone my age. Do you have any suggestions for how to find clothes that are cool enough and yet stylish for 50+ women?

    1. Welcome, Sarah! I’m always on the hunt for clothes that are stylish and cool so stay tuned. Brands are starting to listen and understand what we need which I will bring to you all here:)

    1. I will wear it in another post and show a closeup, Elaine.

  3. Tell us about the great bag too!

    1. It’s from Kate Spade about 30 years ago:). Always keep the good stuff is my motto.
