LilySilk Anniversary Sale

LilySilk Anniversary Sale

Beating the heat in style often means natural fibers. I reach for cotton, linen, and silk for breathability and comfort with silk topping the list for luxury. I’m partnering with LilySilk again today to share their 8th Anniversary Sale with you. This sale only happens once a year from now until August 13. They are also giving a special discount to readers of A Well Styled Life with a code below.Jennifer Connolly of A Well Styled Life modeling basic v top from LilySilk

This basic V-neck tee is not your ordinary tee because it’s made of 100% Crepe de chine silk. It’s very lightweight & wrinkle-resistant. The simple pull-on style makes it a versatile piece to toss on over any bottom. I gravitated to the black but decided on this aqua which is cooler in the hot weather.

I am wearing a medium.

Quality silk is an investment and excellent silk is a delight. It requires special care but it’s worth it for the years of wear you’ll get from it. Their silk is OEKO certified to contain no chemicals which I think is important.Jennifer Connolly of A Well Styled Life modeling basic v top from LilySilk

LilySilk is offering readers of A Well Styled Life a 15% discount off items that are not included in this sale That means if you’ve been wanting to treat your face and hair to a real silk pillowcase, now’s a good time.  Just use the code AWELLSTYLEDLIFE at checkout.Jennifer Connolly of A Well Styled Life modeling basic v top from LilySilk

You look very smart in the jeans and silk top and the colour is very flattering on you. But, in really hot weather, silk isn’t as cool to wear as cotton or linen. Your blog reminded me of when the late Diana, Princess of Wales first visited Australia in the early 1980s, she wore a silk dress when touring outback Australia and it clung to her like a wet dishcloth. At the time it was remarked upon in all of our newspapers.

I agree it isn’t a cool as linen or cotton but I do find it cooler than man-made fabrics. I think having it loose help too.

The necklace is 2 pieces. One an artisan piece from many years ago and the long one is by French Kande, sadly no longer available.

Flattering color on you! While I like silk, in the heat I gravitate to cotton, and rayon.

Jennifer, I love my pillowcases (thanks to you) from LilySilk and even ordered more for gifts. They are the most lovely silk I have seen in a long while. I wash them in the washer & usually hang to dry, but have used the dryer and they are just the same beautiful silk. Recently, I’ve been washing silk scarves…even an Hermes and they are turning out nicer without the chemicals from dry cleaning. You look beautiful in that silk top! Blessings…

I’m so glad! I wash my silk scarves too! The chemicals from dry cleaning are caustic and never seem to get anything very clean.

I agree that silk is actually quite warm to wear, so not suitable for hot days. I’m not a fan of this top – the styling of the v neck is not flattering and the colour reminds me of a hospital uniform. Just my opinion. I also find that heavy chunky jewellery doesn’t work for me in hot weather. I’d prefer something dainty. In summer I always opt for flowing tops.

Sorry, you don’t like it. I don’t find silk too warm for hot days, so we will agree to disagree. Dainty looks lovely on many women but I find it aging on me.

That’s a nice look. I don’t personally like silk, but I’d happily wear that look in something else.

That color is so pretty on you and it looks so fresh and cool in the summer heat. I love silk, I only have ever had two silk blouses, but they feel so good next to my skin. Linen, not so much, but maybe I never had good quality linen, because I only tried it once.
