Life Update: Tofino Adventure
Happy Friday ladies! I flew to Vancouver on Wednesday for a special visit with my daughter. I don’t get to spend enough time with her so this is beyond precious. We hopped a ferry to Vancouver Island yesterday then drove to Tofino on the west coast. 
We weren’tĀ getting colorful foliage at home yet so I’m oohing and aahing over it here.
Four years ago, almost to the day,Ā 
My email accounts and the blog had been hacked by a nasty person who beganĀ sending me threatening emails. He was demanding money to get my access back. I felt violated and vulnerable and was not dealing with it well. To sayĀ I was having a bit of a meltdown would be an understatement so my daughter brought me to Tofino for some R&R and challenged me to try things I never thought I could do.
We’re staying in the same hotel as last time which has a stunning view of the beach.
We brought her little Pug with us who loves to run on the beach as we walk and talk. Thereās something ethereal and healing about this area which is a balm to my soul. Being around nature reminds me what really matters in life, which is the health and love of my family.

You are right about the magic of this healing place. Five years ago my brother and his wife spent a wonderful anniversary vacation there. Sadly, two years later he returned with her ashes. She had jokingly said while visiting that she would like her ashes spread there as it was so beautiful…she never thought that would come to pass as they lived on the other side of the country and she was just 53 and never had a sick day in her life and I guess expected to live to be an old lady as we all do…He made the trip back in her honour and to realize her dream. My brother spent a few weeks there hosted by a friend. He also found some much needed healing.
So glad you also found healing energy and peace on that beautiful beach.

Love that whole area…winter & summer…very relaxing! Glad you and your daughter could get away together. My sweet daughter and I are headed for Bar Harbor, Maine soon. She invited me on a business trip & I’m so happy to get to spend one-on-one time with her. We are both blessed by wonderful children.

Obviously, you got your blog and email access back – but how? What did you have to do? Was the nasty hacker ever caught?
No he was never caught. I had a very clever gal go onto the Google chats and someone at Google finally gave me a chance to prove it was mine. The gave me 1 minute to switch my password which knocked him out. Permanently. Make sure your passwords are hard to think of.
I just missed you! We were there for Canadian Thanksgiving. Walking the beaches definitely filled my emotional bucket to overflowing! It’s such an amazing place.
