Welcome to the Weekend: Idaho Travels

Our last morning in Montana we stopped at the Montana Coffee Shop for breakfast. The wait was long but we’d eaten there before and knew the food was worth it. Our server neglected to give me a number place on our table so they could deliver our food but they had no trouble finding me.

After camping for 5 days my hair was pretty trashed so I upped my accessories and it was the perfect distraction:)

We grabbed additional coffee for the road and hit the road.

When all else fails, aĀ column of black with some colorful accessories always works for me. We decided to head back from Montana by driving south through Idaho. Things all seem larger than life in this part of the country and the drive was spectacular.Ā Elk Lodge in Idaho

Just south of Missoula we headed east on Highway 12 through Clearwater National Forest by way of Lolo Pass. Part way through the very long pass we discovered Elk Lodge which felt like it was in the middle of nowhere. A beautiful nowhere.Ā Jennifer Connolly of A Well Styled Life at Elk Lodge

It looked like an oasis to this parched driver so we stopped for iced tea and fried pickles…OK, not gourmetĀ pickingsĀ but perfect for us.

The log cabins were adorable. I don’t know what I’d do if I came here for more than a day or two but I’d love to figure it out.

The following day we kept heading south, hoping to out run the forest fires so there’d be rooms available at a local motel.

We had no idea of the awesome natural beauty of Idaho’s lakes, rivers, and mountains. The people are friendly and always have a welcome smile. We will be back with our trailer for a longer visit.

Now that Labor Day weekend is here, it feels like summer is officially over but we are squeezing every bit of fun possible into the last few days. Here are some terrific sales I got notice of, that you might want to peek at.

Nordstrom is giving up to 40% off.

Ann Taylor is giving an extra 50% off sale.

Loft is giving an extra 50% 0ff sale and 40% off full priced merchandise.

Enjoy your last weekend of summer and thanks for reading!

    1. It’s brutal here. What happened to our natural air conditioning??

  3. I love the column of black with a colourful sweater and scarf. It looks so comfortable for travel. I will remember for my own 5 day road trip in December. Jeans get a little uncomfortable after 8 hours!!
    Safe travels!

    1. I always prefer stretch pants when driving! Jeans get miserable no matter how loosely they fit me Robin:)

  4. You look so pretty and relaxed. The photo with the hanging flowers is great.

That blue sweater is just gorgeous and looks fabulous on you! Would you be willing to share the brand name and or where you got it?

    1. It’s by Coolibar. I have that cardi in several colors. It’s got 50 sun protection factor built right into the fabric which makes it perfect for long days in the car. Here is a link to it for you http://shopstyle.it/l/gx1K
      I’m wearing the navy.

Great look! I especially love the scarf!! Can you share where you got it? Also, are the earrings heavy?

    1. The earrings are quite lightweight, Marie. They look heavy but aren’t. The scarf is from Ann Taylor last season.

  7. What a beautiful area! It sounds like we will have to head south to Montana and Idaho with our little trailer one of these days.

I’m in the process of letting my short hair grow out and it’s at a very awkward stage right now. I’ll have to follow your example and pay close attention to wearing accessories that will attract attention away from it. Thanks for the tip!

    1. Hats are a great help too Elaine! I wore mine a lot on the back end of our trip:)
