We’ve had really beautiful weather for the last few weeks. Spring has arrived in Northern California! All the trees are blooming and the sun is warm. Last week, we had a semi-dressy afternoon event, where I knew I would swelter in my standard winter clothes. I decided to pull out a sundress and winterize it.
I wear very few patterns but this dress spoke to me at a Trina Turk event last year. My friend Kim, of “Northern California Style”, arranged the event and introduced me to colorful, Trina Turk clothes!
Burgundy suede flats, black handbag, and black cardigan help this dress look more season appropriate. With a pattern as busy as this, I would only add solid color accessories with very little texture.
I added my favorite French Kande necklace and simple hoops earrings to let the dress pattern take center stage. I’ve had the silk cardigan and handbag for years. This bag was designed when Tom Ford was the designer at Gucci. It’s a treasure to me! I firmly believe accessories can be timeless.
