Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends and family! This fall I am switching up how I wear my neutrals and which ones are taking center stage. I will always own and wear plenty of black because it travels well, doesn’t show dirt, coordinates with most everything and always feels stylish…but it’s not my first go-to for a neutral these days.
Gray is having a resurgence this season and I’m thrilled. It’s showing up in clothing and accessories so I am stocking up in all of its intensities.

Gray is available in shades pale enough to look almost white and deep enough to look black which allows it to substitute for black in many instances. It’s easier on my softening complexion than black so requires less makeup to pull off.
I found this sweater in cream here but opted to take the mauve home for a change of pace.
I seldom gravitate to moto-inspired footwear because my feet are large for my height and I don’t like to make them appear any bigger than they are. It was the gray suede that enticed me but the lacing detail and deep V sides that sold me on them…plus they are very comfy. I am wearing them with these peds which don’t show.
The deep V sides shorten the visual length of the bootie which suits me fine. These type booties look best with a skinny leg so the boot detail shows. These are the Sculpt Pull-on leggings by Talbots in empire wash which are a perfect length. I added a simple navy tank in a similar depth to the jeans for a column effect.
I’m carrying this gray tote bag with everything this fall and loving how easily it plays with other colors. There are obviously times when I need a handbag so I have my eye out for a gray one. With the prevalence of gray this fall, I expect I will have lots to choose from.
Are you gravitating to a new for you color this fall?
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
