My Best Friend and Favorite Color
I’m a huge fan of Carol Turner clothes. She’s an American designer who creates easy care, easy to wear, sophisticated clothes for women. I discovered her garmentsĀ throughĀ Artful Home and have a been a devotee ever since.
When Artful Home offered me this Fiore Seamed Top,Ā I jumped at the chance to add more teal to my wardrobe. Itās my favorite color because it makes my eyes pop. It also comes in other terrificĀ colors and I may need to have it in the MulberryĀ Purple, which is very rich looking.
I love this fabric! It’s undulating waves of pleats add subtle texture without adding visual weight. The 3/4 length sleeves are great for showcasing bracelets and help us look taller. The hemĀ dips to a point in the back which makes it aĀ great top for leggings.
I wore it toĀ San Francisco last week for a touristy trip with my oldest girlfriend. I styled it with my favorite blue jeans, Sassy Cowl Jacket, and swapped the necklaces for a scarf to keep warm.
We took a ferry into the city, then walked down Fisherman’s Warf to the Buena Vista Cafe for their worldĀ famous Irish Coffee. The place was packed but we finally managed to snag a table by the window.
Trust me when I tell you this is not lo-cal but it is amazing! They still make it using their original 1952 recipe.
All warmed up from the inside out, we took the cable car over to Chinatown. The conductors were in rare form cracking jokes, asking where everyone was from making tourists feel welcome. It seemed hokey but was endearing.
By the time we got back on the ferry to head home, I had my scarf wrapped around my head for warmth. When will I remember to dress like I’m going to the north pole when I plan to be in San Francisco at night?
Artful Home is having a free shipping event December 10-15 so it’s a great time to try them!
A big thank you to Artful Home for providing this top which I love; all opinions are my own.
Artful Home looks addictive, Jennifer! I love those stunning pieces that you don’t see everywhere. Just ordered more LilySilk and want to thank you for introducing me to these beautiful pieces too. Take good care, my friend…
I love wearing unique pieces! Iām so glad youāre enjoying Lily Silk, Cheryl Ann. They do have very pretty things. Xx
My dearest friend guided me to your site. Perhaps there’s a trip to SF in our futures!
Welcome Sally!
I love the blouse. In fact I’ve loved the other Carol Turner blouses you’ve showcased on your blog. But holy cow…a $188 price point for a blouse just isn’t going to happen for me. Particularly when I can’t go to the store and try it on first. Who am I kidding, I still couldn’t talk myself into it š
Several are on sale which might be a great option for you Creal! I do know we all have varying budgets which is why I try to share lots of price points.
Thank you Jennifer! Always enjoy your blog.
Teal is so flattering on you and I love your top. Thanks for the photos of your special time with your girlfriend.
Cheers!
Cheers, Julie!
What a great top. How fun to reconnect with a friend. Always the best! Xx
The most fun. Old friends are priceless.
I love the color of your glasses!
Thank you
Looks like a fun time, and makes me miss San Francisco!!
Itās such a fun city.
I love pictures of San Francisco and have also frozen when I underdressed for our trips into the city. ha!
That top is just gorgeous and I love the scarf with it. The glasses are also icing on the cake. Beautiful look!
Thank you Laurel. We had a blast.
Teal is a beautiful colour on you. Artful Home tops would be great for travel, as they are purposely wrinkled. I must check to see if there is one in Seattle. I will be there in January and can check them out. The cost of shipping and duty really adds up.
That Irish coffee looks yummy!
Thanks Joanna. Artful Home only sells online but the free shipping will work to Canada during this event!
Oh, you look fabulous wearing this top. Teal does look so good on you. You also can wear those pinched stripes. Looking great lady.
Thanks so much Sandra!
Great top Jennifer!
San Francisco can be super chilly with all that ocean air and fog …I remember being cold when we visited and it is such a beautiful place to explore…how lovely that you were able to meet up with your dear friend and share some fun!
Itās such a fun city! We need to make a point of going in more often.
Love this top. Please tell me about your glasses. Iām looking for a new pair and I love the shape and color of yours. Would you consider a post on the best shape of eyewear for facial shapes and skin tone? Thank you.
Hi Carol, I’ve written several posts on choosing eyeglasses. Here is the latest one . I searched a long timne before I found these:)
I just received my J. Crew v-neck cashmere sweaters in grey and fuscia. Thanks for directing me to this excellent choice on sale. In NJ weāll have plenty of cold weather to enjoy them.
My pleasure Gail! Iāve worn them for years and think theyāre a terrific value.
