Espadrilles and Wedges: On the Hunt for Comfy Shoes
Our temps hit 77 degrees yesterday and tomorrow is supposed to be even warmer. Since I had to be out of the house while a realtor was showing it, I took the opportunity to go shoe shopping. How’s that for justification? I also had to exchange a pair, but I could have left right after.
My left bunion has been rearing it’s ugly self lately so I was on a hunt for comfy shoes.
I bought these espadrilles several weeks ago but decided I need to go down a size. I was lucky they still had some blue in stock because they seem to be gone from the website.
These Espadrille Wedges have a cork innersole which makes them very cushiony. I went down a size and chose the black because..me. Black sandals seem the most versatileĀ to me and my old pair bit the dust last summer.
These UggĀ Platforms were amazingly comfy. If I had smaller feet they would have come home with me but the oversized bow made me feel like a Clydesdale. As I look at these photos, I realize the bows are so oversized they make my feet appear smaller;) Proportion is everything ladies!
I loved this Cork Wedge sandal with the tassels but it was too wide for me. It has a great arch support and is very cushiony but sadly wrongĀ for my foot.
I thought these flip flops were adorable but not my best colors. Then I discovered sky blue online…UGGS run large so I will size down.
I loved these Cap-Toe EspadrillesĀ with ankle wraps.Ā They’re a nude suedeĀ with gold toe and would go with everything. I was all set to buy them when I tried these on. Sadly, I can’t buy everything I like;)
This Ankle Strap EspadrilleĀ isĀ amazingly comfortable and came homeĀ with me. It comes in gray or blush suede. Both colors are so neutral they’re interchangeable…I got the blush. The sole has a sneaker base which gives it tons of cushion. It reminds me my Eileen Fisher sandal with the sport bottomĀ but this is much more affordable.
These platformĀ sandals are very stable on your foot and easy to walk in. They have a foam cushioned footbed that makes them super comfy. I love that the strapsĀ are all adjustable so you can customized them to your foot.
These Eileen Fisher SportĀ Sandals are on my short list for the next addition to my wardrobe. I bought them in black several years ago and know them to be incredibly comfortable. The trouble is they come in 15 colors and I can’t decide which color to get!
IĀ love this sandal. It’s by Munro so comes in medium and wide width. The cutoutsĀ will help it feel cool in the hot weather plus they have a shock absorbing sole. It has a low stable heel and comes in 3 colors. I love this metallic blue which willĀ be great with jeans.
This wedge sandalĀ by Sarto comes in 8 colors, both leather, andĀ suede. Luckily they did not have my size in this stripe which was my favorite.
Do you look for comfort in your shoes?
Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Comfort is essential, especially in footwear!
Great post! I have also found the Hermina sandal by Yuu to be comfortable and good looking. They can be worn to everything from shorts to causal dresses.
I haven’t heard of them, where do you find them?
Shopping for footwear is so frustrating with more poor bunion plagued feet! Summer is easier with sandals but still problematic. I like he Eileen and Mickee above but have to shop in person so hope I can find them. 77 degrees there?? Interested in a visitor?? ????
80 today which is pretty unusual but I am thrilled.
Great post. Love that you show and evaluate each shoe, pros and cons. It gives us an idea what the shoes are like on a real foot! Ha
Thanks again.
My pleasure
So happy that you are addressing shoes & of comfort! I am in need of help finding the perfect shoe. We are headed to Europe mid May (for a month) & I need the BEST walking shoe there is!! I wear a 6W & have a high instep. As I have aged my ankles have a tendency to swell. We will be doing a lot of walking (mostly on concrete). I will wear pants (no shorts) & want a cute shoe that DOESN’T look like an athletic shoe!! Thoughts?
That is what I am looking for too. I have Clark’s wave walk closed toe leather shoes and their walking sandal, which is as comfortable as any gym shoe I have. Looking for a casual comfortable shoe for capris that I can walk miles in!
I bought the EF sport sandal in black for our cruise of the Balticās that entailed tons of walking on rough cobblestones. It was so comfortable I wore them everyday and evening in the ship. They dressed up and down. I wore them with a maxi dress and pants.
Psst! Iām still not receiving your posts in my inbox. ????
Oh no!!! Let me try again.
Oh, shooooes! ???? I love shoes. Why, you might ask? Because they donāt care if Iām 130 or 160. No judging with footwear.
Those Uggs are too cute for words. Wouldnāt they be great for around the pool?
The Leeannās ankle straps have my interest. I could be a leaping ballerina in those. Do they fit narrow?
I have a wide foot and they fit me well. They would be sooo cute by the pool.
Love those choices. Xx
Love the platform type shoes, they have great cushioned bottoms. I do find the ankle wrap area too loose for my foot, and I feel I will tip over, especially when traveling, the cobblestone streets are challenging. But they look lovely.
A good cobbler can shorten those for you.
Yes, as Iāve gotten older, comfort has become an important factor!! A newer brand to me, Lāamour Des Pieds, has a soft, supportive footbed, cute styles, and is one of the more comfortable shoes Iāve worn in awhile. Nordstrom has a big selection online, as well as LāAmourās website. I just bought a pair of the EF sport sandal and looking forward to wearing them. Thanks for your post!
I love my L’Amour Des Pieds!! My store doesn’t carry them which is frustrating but you’ve reminded me to check online.
I love the cute platforms but am afraid to death of falling…two to my credit……
Are the rubber soles too casual for night out, Sunday?
Ouch! Theyāre not too casual for a local dinner or night out.
Love this! I too have a bunion and it makes all this difference in what shoes I purchase…therefore Iām always lacking in shoes. I usually look but keep on walking! I will wear a shoe to death before buying new ones š Thatās so tacky but a new shoe is very painful!!
Have you tried the Arcopedico line? I have these in black which are made from sweater fabric and are insanely comfortable.

I thought the Zoe wedge was the most elegant.
Lov this post. I want to go shopping!
I had fun!
The striped Sarto , the mutli color choice Williow EF sandals, and the Ugg Poppy flip flops are so cute that it’s making my teeth hurt.
š
I love the cap toe sandals! My toes really need to be covered. Wasn’t planning on shoe shopping this weekend but now I think I might!
As I get older I realize I can still buy lower heel, cute, trendy shoes. I have a high in-step and narrow feet (but I wear a medium) and the sorter heel just seems to feel better for a better walk. I love the “shoe” post today.
All the best
Iām more comfortable in a lower heel too. There are some adorable ones around these days.
