Embracing Fuzzy this Fall

Happy Wednesday ladies. The last five days have been very low key for me because I’m fighting off the cold from hell. My husband caught it first and let me just say,Ā he’s a lousyĀ patient. I hid my Nurse Ratched tendencies and made homemade soup etc, feeling pretty smug that I wasn’t catching it. Until Friday morning.

I woke up with a sore throat and knew I was doomed. I slammed vitamin C and complained enough that the germs got sick of being around myĀ miserable self and is almost gone. Funnily, I’m a bigger whiner when sick than my poor husband;)Jennifer Connolly of A Well Styled life wearing

When this vest arrived, I put it right on over myĀ PJ’s.Ā I looked pretty silly but this fabric makes it feel like a big hug from a teddy bear. I’m obsessed with all the Teddy bear coats these days but this may be a better option for me in Northern California.

Wider legged jeans are making a comeback this year. I’m never the first to add a trend and I’ll always love my skinnies… but bootcut jeans are coming in a very close second for me now.Jennifer Connolly of A Well Styled Life wearing fleece vest over black sweater with boot cut jeans

Love this look on you and that vest is awesome!
This is my kind of uniform.
I have always loved bootcut jeans and look forward to putting them back into circulation.
Stay well and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

When I clicked to go to the boot cut jeans, my ipad refused to open the web page. I’m thinking of buying some and wanted you to get credit for them.

  3. Iā€™m not one for vests. My arms get cold. Any Iā€™ve added to my wardrobe just sit there until I give away or donate. So, Iā€™ve learned to just say no. It does look snuggly though.
I love my bootcut jeans! They give the appearance of longer and leaner. Come winter and boot weather, Iā€™ll be pulling out my skinnies again.
Hope your cold fades soon in time for Thanksgiving!

Now Iā€™m going rethink boot cut jeans. You look great in them.

Vests, yes. I have several. Theyā€™re the added warmth without bulk that I need from fall through spring. Some have lots of pockets which is extra handy for travel or when I donā€™t want to carry a purse.

  5. Love it! I wear this look, but with a dark faux fur vest. It works, because the bootcut jeans balance the volume on top. Mine is covered up by a winter coat, mind you. Bootcut jeans give me more room at this time of year for that important base layer — fleece-lined tights.

  6. Vests, no. I live in a cold climate and I am always cold, so I prefer sleeves. I prefer bootcut jeans because really, any shoe works with them.

  7. Love this outfit on you. The bootcut jeans seem to lengthen the line making you look taller. For a lot of us thatā€™s a big plus! With our welcome rain that fuzzy vest will be so cozy! HappyThanksgiving!

Never gave up my bootcut jeans! Love the vest, but don’t think it would fit under my winter coat. Here in Chicago it’s winter in full swing! I do own a couple thinner vests that I usually pair with a mock turtleneck. Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. Chicago is cold and windy! I only visited once but remember it well. Happy Thanksgiving Carolyn

  9. The vest is beautiful! I’m wondering if it leaves fuzz on the darker under layer?.

    1. I was afraid it might but it didnā€™t. Not one bit of fuzz.

  10. Love your bootcut jeans…they look great and it is nice to see them return. Hope your Thanksgiving brings good health and joy.

  11. You look great! Cold or not, you look young, vibrant and very on spot with this outfit! Love navy!
    Have a wonderful thanksgiving!

  12. I am happy to see bootcuts again. They are more flattering on some of us.But I see women resisting ,like they resisted skinnyā€™s and layers a few years ago.

    1. I agree. Many are resisting but the longer theyā€™re around the more acceptable theyā€™ll seem.

  13. I’ve been slowly adding to my vest collection over the past few tears and this year I discovered micro down vests. It was hard to restrict myself to just two but my budget and limited storage space required it. I added one in taupe and one in a muted brownish purple (Fudge), both by HeatKeep at Kohl’s. Now I own 5 vests. I find that at 52, I need lots of layers and vests and scarves provide me with just the right amount of warmth.

    1. Micro down sounds wonderful. Iā€™ll need to look into them. Maybe in a jacket. I love your colors. So pretty.
