Dressing Room Diaries: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

After yesterday’s post on classic style muses, I approached the Nordstrom anniversary sale in a totally different way. I ignored the siren calls of…bell sleeves, cold shoulder and off the shoulder tops. I skipped the trending and transient fashions and headed straight for the classics. I only had 30 minutes to spend so this is a very edited post.

At last years sale, I got a navy cashmere poncho and black cashmere wrap that have been worn repeatedly, so that’s the first place I shopped. Quality cashmere is expensive so any chance to get it on sale is smart in my book.

Thinking versatility, I bought this cashmere poncho in pale gray. It’s available in several great colors but I chose neutral to coordinate with everything in my wardrobe. It’s not a standout piece but will be a beautiful supporting piece I’ll wear for years and a great deal at $98.

I loved this cardigan coat and have it on order. The detailing is slightly unique and it’ll be worn all the time!

This lightweight cashmere tunic will be terrific over leggings. The cowl neckline is very flattering and the dolman sleeves boost its comfy factor. The 3/4 sleeves are perfect for showcasing bracelets and prevent it from looking overwhelming. I ordered it in Charcoal Heather.

I literally ran through the shoe department on my way out and spotted my favorite booties from last year are on presale this year! I love mine and wore them with jeans, leggings and a skirt! Because I loved them so much I went home and ordered this Munro Ayr bootie online. Munro shoes and boots come in narrow, regular and wide width, have cushioned insoles and contoured footbeds which my feet appreciate!

Comfy feet and soft knits are right at the top of my list so with that covered…I’m heading back today to look at accessories and some of their beauty products. I’ll keep you posted on what I find.

Are you as much a fan of cashmere as I am?

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Love your cashmere choices. Now I need to look in my drawers and see what I have. I don’t want to repeat tops. That Vince coat is a beauty and I always love ponchos. So comfy and hide a multitude of sins. That wrap is a beauty also. Good shopping Jennifer. Now I’ll go look for my Nordtroms card.

Your post made me take another look at the sale. I’m going to an outdoor wedding in South Carolina in early October. The lows are expected to be in the mid 50s that time of year. I’m trying to decide between the poncho and the cashmere wrap for warmth. What would you suggest? I’ll be wearing a lace top and palazzo pants.

I would absolutely go with the wrap for a wedding, Denise. Ponchos are casual, no matter their fabrication. Plus, palazzo pants are voluminous so a tighter wrapped shawl is a better proportion. Ponchos start wide and stay wide all the way down.
