Managing Menopause with a Supplement

Managing Menopause with a Supplement

Happy Wednesday ladies! Today I’m sharing some of my struggles that are common for most of us. Menopause, the time of life that just keeps giving and giving.

As a blogger, I’m often approached by brands to try their products and share them with you. Being a bit of a health nut, I turn most of them down. When I was invited to try Menopause 731™ by Life Extension®, I was intrigued and decided yes, I want to try this so this post is sponsored and paid for by Life Extension.

Life Extension® has been providing the highest quality nutritional supplements, including vitamins, minerals, for over 38 years and is an innovator of regimen protocols to promote healthy aging.

Menopause 731™ is made from Siberian rhubarb extract, a unique non-hormonal supplement which has been used successfully in Germany for many years to address 11 common and uncommon discomforts of menopause.

A quick look on Google turns up multiple double-blind, placebo-controlled studies which show that Siberian Rhubarb is a real game changer for women and provides significant relief from menopause discomforts. Bingo..sign me right up! I’m a huge fan of supplements and rely on many to keep me healthy.

My perimenopause started early and my menopause symptoms just keep hanging on for dear life. Other methods were just not an option for me. That left me battling it alone.

My most annoying discomforts now are occasional hot flashes and sleep disturbances. My husband would say it’s irritability and mood swings ;). I have more than my fair share so I’m excited to try Menopause 731to see if it will help

Menopause 731™ uses a unique Siberian rhubarb extract which selectively activates ER-β, a specific estrogen receptor which is reported to help relieve 11 common and uncommon menopausal discomforts – hot flashes, night sweats, irritability, mood swings, sleep disturbances, exhaustion, joint and muscle discomfort, vaginal dryness, urinary health, and sexual function.

In one study of over 400 women, 83% felt a reduction on hot flashes and total menopause discomfort while 66% had reduced irritability and mood swings. Results were felt in as little as four weeks with no adverse side effects.

You and your readers may be surprised to learn that hot flashes are NOT a global phenomenon but they are commonly experienced by women in the West. Diet and environment (xenoestrogens, spelling?) are the probable causes.

I have been able to control my menopausal symptoms with the most current version of the Paleo diet which means that my plate is about 2/3 vegetables. I consume at least 7 servings of fruits and veggies daily, incorporating as much variety as I can. I have found that the intensity and frequency of my hot flashes are directly related to my fructose consumption. The more fructose I consume, the more frequent and intense the hot flashes. Insulin and estrogen are just a couple of the cogs in the delicately balanced endocrine system.

That’s fascinating and I am not surprised. You’re so right about how finely tuned our bodies are. I do eat a lot of veggies but not as much as you…I need to up my amount. I haven’t looked into the paleo diet and I will.

I only had one menopausal symptom and that was only ONE hot flash. That was it. Nothing more. Doctor was surprised. My mother/grandmother also appeared to not have any major symptoms. They never mentioned any discomfort. This of course appears to be most unusual. I’m 70 now and still feeling great.
