If you read many blogs you’ve likely been bombarded with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale hoopla. This time of year feels like a feeding frenzy on many social media channels as bloggers all vie to provide the last link shoppers use to buy at the sale.
Here’s how it works:
If you click on blogger A’s link to Nordstrom and put things in your shopping cart, the company drops a cookie in your computer which pays that blogger a small commission when you buy.
However if you save that cart then click back to Nordstrom through blogger B’s link and purchase what’s in your cart, blogger B gets the commision. It’s the name of the game for affiliate marketing and I think causes some of the overkill on the coverage of this sale.
This sale takes place once a year and is unique because rather than discounts on old merchandise it’s on new selections for the upcoming season. I always buy things during this sale.
Early access begins today for card holders so I’ll drag myself from the beach and start my shopping. Honestly, I’d rather stay at the beach and read but my only regrets with this sale have been things I hesitated over and missed out on.
Because I’m traveling and can’t get into the store, I’ll be ordering more than usual and shipping back what doesn’t work. Nordstrom makes this easy because they give free shipping both ways and take returns with no questions asked.
I won’t bombard you with posts on this sale but I will be back to share what I look for, what I’ve purchased and things I think are a particularly good buy
Do you shop this sale? What do you look for?
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
