Look of the Week: The Power of Color to Lift Your Spirits
Happy Monday ladies. Our weekend was quiet and relaxing. My husband has a man cold and I’m guessing you know what that means. I holed up in my office working on the blog between soup and sympathy deliveries. I’m also slamming vitamin C and hoping to avoid this cold because we have an RV trip planned to warmer climates next weekend.
Our weather is gray, the holidays are over and it’s easy to feel down this time of year. I sure do. What to do? Wear some happy colors!
The Bee Hoodie is artist designed and made in the USA. The brand is Fenini which focuses on style and comfort. It’s made from a french terry that’s incredibly soft. I love wearing clothes that feel good! Don’t you?
It has a shaped silhouette through the torso then flares to a bubble hem. The bottom ribbing pulls in which helps it feel slimming!
I styled it with black today but will be pairing it with white and blue jeans, leggings and wear it over workout gear if I ever when I drag myself to the gym.
This hoodie is sized from XS to 3X. For reference, I am wearing a small. I love that Artful Home carries garments to fit most all of us. I’m petite and love the length of this hoodie. It’ll cover everything I need covering while IÂ wear it with leggings. Taller women will also find this a flattering length.
Does color affect your mood? Please share in the comments.
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
Thank you to Artful Home for partnering on this post and providing this hoodie. I was compensated but all opinions are honest and my own.
Thank you for supporting the brands that allow me to continue this blog.
Black, gray, navy and brown may be basics but I need at least a pop of strong colour somewhere to feel good. No pastels for me. I love what you are wearing!
Thanks Janet! I wear pastels so this is a departure for me. Neutrals are my go to but color sure adds zip to a look.
I like the colour/length of the hoodie. Great colour for winter. When I was downtown recently I was surprised as to how many people were dressed in black. So dull. I wore a light grey jacket and bright scarf.
On really dull dreary rainy days at home or going out I like to wear sparkly jewelry. It lifts one’s spirits.
I love wearing black but it does get dreary in gray weather. I agree about the sparkly jewelry too. Why not? Fashion should cheer us up and make us happy.
I love your peep toe booties that I have seen you wear before and just love them! Can you tell me where to find them? Oh and how high are they! THANK you
They are very comfy. The brand is Munro from last year. I did find a link for you online here http://cookandloveshoes.com/munro-american-eve-black-suede-m277686?gclid=Cj0KCQiAyszSBRDJARIsAHAqQ4opXGMtwWUwjhZoZF9wJUq9w2izq2jH_eoDJZ0rmiIUF2RoAZwTUvQaAoKKEALw_wcB#92=14&139=27
It has a 1 1/2 inch heel. You are welcome, I wish I had bought 2 pair.
That colour is stunning on you! I’m also attempting to add more colour to my mostly monochromatic wardrobe.
I hope your hubby feels better soon and that you enjoy your RV trip. As you know, I’m terribly envious that you can do that at this time of year!
We are so very anxious to get away. There’s nothing like the relaxation we get from being away in our little RV. Thanks Elaine, I love this hoodie.
I love the bright colour! You wear pink well. I bet you get a lot of use out of this hoodie. It will be great for RVing.
I laughed when you said you were going to warmer climes. You’re in California! That is warmer to most of us. ????
Va voom!Love that pink!
Exactly!
This is a very attractive look from head to toe. The color and style of the hoodie I love plus it looks great over black. I also really like the shoes and purse.
I am finding myself going for the bright colors too.
With the success of this pink, I’ll be trying more too Elizabeth.
I love your jacket! The color is a great pick me up for this gloomy time of year!
Peace!
Cheryl
Thanks Cheryl! Have a great week.
Wearing color does help with the cold weather blues!! I hope you stay healthy for your trip, Jennifer.
Thank you Pam! My fingers and toes are crossed.
That pink shade is stunning on you! I love color! It does such flattering things for our complexions, at any age. I remember desperately wanting a camel hair coat in junior high because everybody else was wearing one. My mother put her foot down and explained, tactfully, with my blonde hair and pale skin, I looked washed out and needed color. Mama was right! In a sea of brown wrens, I’m always the one wearing color.
I love this story Roxanne!! I’ve always wanted a Camel colored coat too but I look decidedly ill in them! I don’t wear bright colors often but love them when I do.
As a blonde (highlighted these days) camel is not my best colour, either. I bought camel trench because they were all over Pinterest. Blogs and Instagram. The colour drains me. But, a brightly coloured scarf remedied that issue. My daughter is trying to get me to wear more colour in tops. Bring it on Jennifer!
Scarves are so fabulous for doing just that! I’ll be looking out for more color since I discovered how fun it is so stay tuned:) Let’s dance this together Joanna.
Stunning jacket and I love the color!
Thanks Linda
