How to Dress to Feel Confident at a Business Lunch

I had a lunch meeting with a new client this weekĀ and wanted to look extra nice. We Image Consultants need to keep up appearances! We met at her office then headed out to a local restaurant.

Welcome to this week’s Hit Your Style Sweet Spot, my weekly collaboration with Pamela LutrellĀ from Over 50 Feeling 40!

hit your style sweet spot

You’ve hit your Style Sweet Spot when your appearance is sending the message you intend, and you feel confident that you look your best. Last week we sharedĀ how we wore a new trend.Ā This week we’re showing how we dress for a business lunch.

Our weather is still all over the place in the San Francisco bay area. The calendar says Fall, but our temperatures don’t always cooperate. One day it’s cool and the next it tops 90! I want to dress for the season but also feel comfortable. That means fall colors and shapes in lightweight fabrics.

Cloud Tunic by Lisa Bayne at Artful Home

I wore my Cloud TunicĀ by Lisa Bayne from Artful Home, with a ponte knit skirt.Ā It’s called Cloud for a very good reason. The featherweight knit is seasonless and feels gossamer on the body. Its unique rippledĀ fabric hides a multitude of sins…effortlessly.

The fitted silhouette flares to an asymmetricalĀ hemline that skims my body rather than clings. Cling is not my friend these days ladies, but baggy makes me look larger! This shapeĀ is the perfect solution. Fit and flare with texture!

The double layer construction camouflages any rolls and lumps down my back, which is always a plus! The hemline is pointed both front and back which creates a diagonal hemline.

Style Tip: Diagonal seaming and hemlines slim the silhouette.

The color is a pretty bluish gray that will go with everything in my wardrobe.

Its long sleeves are slim but not tight so I can push them up…which I love to do… and they will stay there.

Lisa Bayne is an American designer who createsĀ effortless, artfully expressive clothing that combines great style with comfort!

I felt sophisticated and confident, exactly what I needed to hit my Style Sweet Spot for lunch with a client.

Now let’s go over and see how PamĀ hits her Style Sweet Spot!

Have a great week!
