Mini Handbags: Petite Organization

Happy Sunday, ladies. I’m flying home today from the Covered Perfectly modeling shoot and so so exhausted. Models make this look easy but I’m here to tell you…they work their tails off. I learned a lot, met some fabulous women and am so thrilled I was invited to participate.

Welcome to Hit Your Style Sweet Spot, my weekly collaboration with Pam from Over 50 Feeling 40. You’ve hit your Style Sweet Spot when your appearance is sending the message you intend, and you feel confident that you look your best. This week we are talking about handbags.

Most women have a favorite handbag shape… hobo, envelope, backpack, satchel, tote, etc. This spring there’s a new option for all of them…the mini handbag.

I tried a few on for size last week and loved how the proportion fit my body. At 5’4″, many handbags overwhelm me so these new petite ones are a welcome change.

This cross body by Lousie et Cie was on sale. I loved the size and color but it felt winterish to me.

This blush colored one felt more spring like and I preferred the lightness of the silver-toned hardware.

I fell in love with this bag! This blue is nothing short of fresh and fun. The faux leather has an alligator pattern and its silver-toned hardware looks modern. It is available in 3 other colors, including white, a classic for summer. As per my usual, I took everything out of my large, (too heavy) handbag and was happy to find it all fit into this mini bag.

This and many mini satchels come with a detachable shoulder strap which allow them to be a hands-free cross-body as well as a ladylike satchel.

Many times a large bag seems easier to organize. With these new mini bags, you can quickly see and reach everything, without digging.

Let’s go see what Pam has to say about investment dressing.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

  1. I’ve tried hard in the past to be a small purse person, but I wasn’t very successful at it! I always end up trying to cram too much stuff in them.

    1. I’m hoping to control myself and relieve some neck pain!

  2. In my 20s, I was a journalist and a photographer, so my bag was a camera case with a place for makeup, credit cards and money. That, along with never being a mother with the need to carry a lot of things with me at all times, has kept me from being a purse girl. The last few years I’ve bought several mini purses like you’re talking about and love them. xoxox, Brenda

    1. I am finding smaller is better these days. I hope you are well!!

  3. That blue bag is so pretty! I’ve been on the hunt for a spring bag that’s not too big.

  4. Kathy Davenport says:

I always feel smaller bags are dressier. Unfortunately, I don’t always take the time to change from a larger bag to a smaller one.

    1. Me either but I’m wanting to carry a lighter one these days and give my back a rest.

  5. There are so many pink bags this year and the mini-ones look great on a petite frame. Cute selections!
