Look of the Week: Modern Classics

I adore cooking so we seldom go out to eat locally. Saturday I wanted a change of pace so we decided to check out our newest Thai restaurant. It called for super casual attire but I wanted to kick it up a notch.

I knew my See Two Spirithouse jacket was destined to become a favorite, and it has. Last time I dressed it up with a spectacular scarf  and this Saturday I dressed it down for casual, relaxed style.

Spirithouse See Two Jacket from Artful Home

Spirithouse is designed in Los Angeles by Katrin Noon. Her fashions combine modern edginess with romantic detailing and are known for their unconventional twist on traditional designs. She likes function over form and designs her clothes to be worn over and over. It’s certainly working for me!

The lines of this jacket are spare and clean so I kept my accessories simple.

silver hoop earrings, silver bangle and leopard belt

I added classic hoop earrings, a large silver bangle, and a leopard belt with a bit of sparkle on the buckle. You see very little of the belt under my jacket so the effect is subtle.

White jeans and a white tank top were the perfect backdrops for my Spirithouse Jacket.

The restaurant was local, unassuming and excellent.

Thai coconut soup

We loved this Thai Coconut Soup, which was the best we’d ever had. I’m determined to learn how to make it at home!

This restaurant was the usual sea of blue jeans. I’m glad I took the time to dress up to white jeans and a jacket. After all, it was Saturday night!

Spirithouse See Two Top

I love modern fashion with a unique twist. There’s no doubt that Spirithouse clothes are cool. Does anyone still say cool these days?

Do you dress up for local restaurants?

Have a wonderful week!

  1. Yes, I do dress for local restaurants, and you look just wonderful in your classic-with-an-edge outfit. The belt and accessories, as always, make the look. You’re looking quite svelte these days.

    Cheers, M-T

    1. Thanks, M-T! I am not feeling svelte so the clothes are doing their job!

  2. You looked great. I agree if it’s Saturday night, wherever you are, you should look great.

Hi Jen, love the black and white combo with touches of leopard, clean lines, beautiful card. I tend to dress up when we go out to eat. Hubby finds cooking relaxing too, and we’ve been eating Blue Apron meals.
    You look great!

I try to find garments like this one as they look better on my short and curvy figure.
Thai food is so delicious…and a dinner date is such a nice change.

MY DRESSED DOWN IS A DRESS UP FOR MY TOWN!

  6. Such a good look–and a good look on you. Simple lines and colors, few adornments, flattering open neckline. The jacket looks like a good closet fundamental.

    1. It’s a great, unique basic. I am wearing it a lot!
