Margaritas, Cold Shoulders and Family Reunions

Loreto Bay is a popular place for Canadians and Americans to buy second homes. The weather is glorious, the prices reasonable and the neighbors friendly. TuesdayĀ was Margarita night at a local restaurant, so we went for drinks and to meet my cousin, who I haven’t seen in over 25 years.

Pedro’sĀ restaurant has just relocated to a new spot. They’ve poured the cement floor, erectedĀ the walls with doors and windows and opened for business. There’s no second floor or roof yet which hasn’t stopped them from serving and having a full house!

my cousin, me and me second oldest brother, Peter..I had the best hair that night:)

Even after 25 years, I could have picked my cousin out of a crowd. His resemblance to my oldest brother and uncle is startling.

I frequently see my Mom looking back at me from the mirror. He must see his Dad, my Mom’s brother….because he looks just like him.

After catching up on 25+ years of family history we headed into downtown Loreto for dinner at a fabulous new restaurant call Mia Loreto.

cold shoulder top

I wore my white pants and cold shoulder topĀ in deep navy from Purple Poppy. I love the deep V-neck in theĀ back and asymmetrical hemline. It’s flowy and falls away from my tummy… which hides a multitude of guacamole and chips:) The 3/4 sleeves are perfect for showcasing bracelets. I didn’t add a necklace because it would compete with the cold shoulder detail.

I like that this top is a knit so it’s drapey and never needs ironing. It came right out of my suitcase looking perfect. I’m wearing a medium but I could have probably worn a small too!

The weather continues to be hot and sunny so we’re packing a picnic lunch and headed to the beach tomorrow. I hope the weather is treating you well where you are.

  5. Well, here in central east Alberta, we got 6 inches of sloppy wet snow yesterday, so no, the weather isn’t treating us well at all! All the more reason to enjoy your experience vicariously. I think Brrr when I see your cold shoulder look, but I know it’s perfect for Mexico.

Don’t you just love Mexican architecture?

      1. Do you know why Purple Poppy doesn’t list their measurements?
